+ About the work
Shell (2022) is a 3D printed resin Shell logo, whose normally shielded mollusc flesh has come to life with a grim lick. The oil and gas giant Shell is responsible for some of the largest nameable climate catastrophes to have ever happened; from turning the Niger Delta into a disaster zone to spending $22 Million a year on anti climate change lobbying to tripling their profits during a global cost of living crisis. The unassuming clam shell logo is the face of a monster. Half of all proceeds made by the artist will be donated to the Climate and Migration Coalition.
+ About the artist
Harry Grundy (b.1993) is a Margate based artist. Curious, conceptual and performative, Harry is working in the natural world in an unnatural time. With a background in design, ideas are treated with a rigorous honesty and crafted with a graphic eye. Learnings from the Land Art movement are tested against post-internet conditions encouraging a tension that reflects the way our species have brutalized Earth to meet an industrial vision. Fuelled by disagreements with the long-dead Romantics, Harry asks the viewer to look closely and critically at our relationship with this phenomenal world.
